What is a Kanal?
A kanal equals 20 marla, which is 5,445 sq ft or 605 sq yd (about 505.86 sq m). It is used for large houses, farmhouses and commercial plots. 8 kanal make 1 acre.
What is a Sarsai?
Sarsai (sarsahi) is the smallest traditional unit: one square karam, 5.5 ft × 5.5 ft = 30.25 sq ft. Nine sarsai make 1 marla.
What is a Bigha?
In Punjab, 1 bigha = 4 kanal = 80 marla = 21,780 sq ft, half an acre. The bigha changes from region to region, so confirm the local size before buying.
What is an Acre?
1 acre = 43,560 sq ft = 4,840 sq yd = 8 kanal = 160 marla = 4,046.86 sq m. It is the standard for farms. In Punjab it is also called killa or ghumaon.
