What this policy covers

This page provides information on what happens to your information while you use VidHub and the downloader. It only affects this website, not Instagram, not your browser, and not the app that you open the saved file in after. Each has its own rules, and we'd recommend you check out their rules as well.

What we collect

Most tools gather more than we require since it is simple to do and difficult to notice. VidHub does the opposite: If it isn't necessary to make the download work, then it isn't collected.

That's the full list. There's no sign-up form asking for your name or email, because there's no sign-up at all.

What we don't collect

• Your Instagram username or password. The site never asks for either, and has no way to log into Instagram on your behalf.
• A history of what you've downloaded. Once a file is sent to you, our copy of the temporary link to it is cleared out shortly after.
• Anything to build an advertising profile. There's no tracking pixel following you to other sites after you leave this one.
• Payment details. The site is free and there's nothing to buy, so there's nothing to pay for.

How the download actually works

When you paste a link and press download, our server reads the same public page Instagram already shows anyone who visits that link while logged out. It pulls out the video or photo file, hands it back to your browser, and the job is done. The link you typed and the file it pointed to aren't kept around afterward — there's a short window where a copy sits in a temporary cache to make repeat requests faster, and it clears out on its own within a few minutes to a few hours.

If a post is private, set to followers-only, or has been deleted, the same public page won't show it either — which means VidHub can't fetch it. That's not a setting we could turn on even if someone asked; it's a wall built into how the whole thing works.

Cookies and local storage

VidHub uses one small piece of browser storage: a note of whether you prefer light or dark mode, kept on your own device so the site looks right the next time you visit. It isn't a tracking cookie, it isn't shared with anyone, and clearing your browser data removes it instantly.

If a hosting or security service we use (for instance, one that helps stop automated abuse of the site) sets its own cookie, that's covered by that service's own policy, not ours — we'd rather say that plainly than pretend we control every byte that ever touches your browser on this site.

Who else sees anything

A handful of outside services help keep the site running, and each only sees the narrow slice of information it needs to do its job:

• Our hosting provider runs the server the site lives on, the same way a landlord owns the building a shop operates out of.
• Instagram's own servers receive the request when we fetch a public post on your behalf — the same request your own browser would send if you visited that link directly.
• A basic analytics tool counts visits in aggregate, without attaching them to a name, email, or account, because there isn't one to attach them to.

Nobody on this list is buying or selling your information, because there's no profile of you for them to trade in the first place.

If you're under 18

VidHub doesn't knowingly collect information from children, mostly because it doesn't collect much from anyone. There's no account to create and no form asking for an age or a birthday. If you're a parent and have a concern about something on this site, the contact details below reach a real person, not a support queue.

Keeping your downloads to yourself

Being able to save a public photo or video doesn't automatically mean it's fine to repost it as your own elsewhere. That's a separate question from privacy, but worth saying plainly: downloading something is for keeping it, not for taking credit for it. If in doubt, ask the person who posted it, or simply credit them when you share it on.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes in a way that matters — a new feature that collects something new, a different outside service being added — this page gets updated and the date at the top moves with it. There's no version that quietly changes the rules without that date changing too. Checking back occasionally is the only way to catch updates, since there's no account to email a notice to.
